ANDERS BERG’s bass has over many years been a steady force at the Swedish improvisation scene. His fundamental playing style can be heard on several recordings with musicians such as Gunnar Backman, Peeter Uuskyla, Per Anders Nilsson, Lars Larsson, Henrik Wartel, Tellef Øgrim and more.
THOMAS OXEM’s multifaceted drumming can be as beat-oriented and varied as one can expect from a musician who has contributed to both organized and free improvised sessions for many years. His playing can be heard with Harald Fetveit, the band Bladed, Jukka Kääriäinen, Dario Fariello and Håvard Skaset, Guoste Tamulynaite and, not least, Hornorkesteret.
TELLEF ØGRIM plays the guitars, both fretted and unfretted. He cites Rollins, Richards, Bowie (Lester and David) and Rypdal among his inspirators. The highly acclaimed UØB trio has the last years been the main outlet for his playing. Lately, he has joined the Oslo combo Wolf and the Gang, while also maintaining his more lyrical side with the trio The Leif.
DARIO FARIELLO is a saxophonist and violist. He studied musicology at the University of Bologna, where he co-founded the Bologna Improvisers Orchestra. After touring extensively with the jazz-core band Luther Blissett, he moved to Berlin in 2011 to work with Tristan Honsinger and DJ Kolonel Blip and founding Multiversal, a nomad festival series featuring improv and noise musicians. Now based in Oslo, his current projects include ZGB, Farantimm, a duo with the poet Bård Torgersen and a trio with Håvard Skaset, an active collaboration with composers Alexander Chernyshkov and Marina Poleukhina.
Franz Hautzinger’s list of current projects includes Dörner/Hautzinger/Kerbaj, Gomberg, Oriental Space and Regenorchester XII. He is one of the most prominent experimental musicians on the Austrian scene. Born in 1963 in Tadten in Seewinkel, Burgenland, he studied trumpet and composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz and at the Vienna Conservatory. He has worked with many big names in the international avant-garde, from Elliott Sharp and John Cale to Christian Fennesz and Keiji Haino.
